Configuring Blueprint Tab and Templates
Blueprint for Outlook Options Tab
With Outlook opened , click Tools-> Options, and locate the Blueprint tab. This configuration displays the Blueprint templates section, and Other options.
Configuring Blueprint Templates
The Blueprint templates section allows you to associate an Outlook item (message class) with a Blueprint template. The default entry (<Default>) has also been provided. This item cannot be removed and provides the default templates to be used for all configured messageclasses (if no alternatives have been specified).
If there is one template associated with the configured message class, this will be presented. However, if more than one template is available, the number of the configured templates will be displayed.
To configure the Blueprint templates for a new message class, click the 'Add' button. This will display a dialog prompting you to specify the message class and displays the configured templates list
To configure the message class, click the 'Change...' button. See Configuring Message Class
To configure your Blueprint templates, see Configuring Templates
Configuring Message Classes
You will be prompted with a dialog to allow you to either choose a known Outlook type, or you can specify an alternative message class. This message class can either be from an none standard Outlook item, or a message class from a published custom form *.
Select OK to confirm your selection.
* Note. If Blueprint recognises your custom message class, the Display name and associated icon should be presented.
To add new template for the current message class, click "Add...". You will be prompted with the following dialog, which will allow you to configure a number of properties for the templates. The default location for sample Blueprint templates is:
|Display Name||This field provides a friendly name to refer to the template, and will be displayed on the 'Template Selection' dialog when a user prints. This field is therefore useful to describe the presentation of the template.|
|Blueprint Template||Click 'Browse...' to select the HTML template from the file system. *|
|View Type||Either 'Memo' or 'Multi Item'. This field determines how the Blueprint printing engine will handle the template.|
|Print Options||This button will present a dialog which will enable default values to be specified for page range, orientation, and page margins.|
* The default location for the example templates delivered with Blueprint for Outlook is:
[Program Files]\Savvisoft\Blueprint for Outlook\Templates
Alternatively, to use the default templates set, ensure that the Blueprint templates list is empty.
You can continue to add as many 'Memo' and 'Multi Item' style templates as you like. For example, the following IPM.Note (Message) message class has 3 Memo style prints and 2 Multi Item style prints:
The order of the configured templates will be the same order when the user is presented with the Template Selection dialog. If you wish to modify the order, click on the item you wish to move and select the up/down arrow at the side of the Blueprint Templates list.
When you are happy with your selection, click OK. Your association should now be added to the list.
Note. The association will not be applied until you have clicked 'Apply' or 'OK' on the Options window.
'Button Options...' button
The Button Options...' button will display the Blueprint Button Options dialog. This will allow you to control the look and feel of the Blueprint buttons. You can choose whether to display the standard buttons, or whether to create your own custom quick buttons. In addition, you can also decide whether the buttons should be displayed in a separate toolbar, and also if the buttons should be presented in a 'Blueprint Menu' popup.
For more information, click Button Options >>
'Autoprint Options...' button
The Autoprint Options...' button will display the Autoprint Manager dialog. This allows you to create Blueprint Actions to autoprint messages and attachments.
Note. The Autoprint Options are only available with Blueprint for Outlook Enterprise Edition
For more information, click Autoprint Options >>
The 'Other Options' dialog allows you to configure other miscellaneous options:
Save as user settings/ Allow user settings (Administrators only)
By default, any Blueprint settings which are configured will be only set for the current Windows user. However, by disabling this option, the current settings will be saved for all users on the machine.
However, this feature can only be configured if the current user has administrator priviledges on the machine. Standard users will not be able to modify this settings. Therefore, this enforces all users to use the administrator settings.
In addition to this, if the administrator is not allowing users to configure Blueprint settings, the Tab (Property Page) will not be available from Tools -> Options
Ensure HTML body is well formed before printing
This setting will ensure that the HTML in the message body is well formed and can be successfully processed by Blueprint.
Specify the path to a file used by Blueprint to output useful logging. Microsoft Outlook must be restarted for this setting to take effect.
Registering Blueprint for Outlook
The register button will prompt the user to enter their registration details. The registration status describes whether the current has been registered, and the number of days to expiration of the evaluation version.
